Verse 11: Jesus said,
1 “This heaven will pass away, and the one above it will pass away.”
2 “The dead are not alive, and the living will not die.”
3 “During the days when you ate what is dead, you made it alive. When you are in the light, what will you do?”
4 “On the day when you were one, you became two. But when you became two what will you do?”
Have you heard about the concept of multiple planes of existence with endless possibilities? Marvel’s third installment of Dr. Strange depicts this theory in an entertaining and fun way.
What if it’s true? If you read the first sentence within verse 11 from a multi-universe perspective, does it make more sense? If you’re not familiar with the theory, this article provides a good example.
This heaven and the one above it……could that refer to planes of existence?
Let’s go with the idea that each of us, our perceptions of every experience, informs a universal mind—not a universal mind like the Borg—that one mind was hungry for more, sought out entire worlds to conquer, so that it could force assimilation.
I’m thinking of a universal mind that is interested in learning from the experiences of willing participants.
If it’s true that we live many lives simultaneously, each one being completely different from the other, then death is merely a fear we hold in this life.
The dead are not alive, and the living will not die.
Alternatively, this sentence could be interpreted as those who are emotionally dead - people who have numbed themselves to the point of not feeling anything. They are dead inside, not enjoying or truly living life. To live is to experience.
I don’t know if you’ve read Plato’s work or not, but in his conversation with Phaedrus, he says:
The soul is immortal, for that is immortal which is ever in motion; but that which moves and is moved by another, in ceasing to move ceases also to live. Therefore, only that which is self-moving, never failing of self, never ceases to move, and is the fountain and beginning of motion to all that moves besides.
Plato tells Phaedrus that it takes ten thousand years before the soul can return to the place from whence she came, for she cannot grow her wings in less.
That’s a lot of lives and a lot of experiences.
It is our emotions, not our thoughts, that move us and compel us to act. Our heart, I believe, is the sacred temple within that houses our spirit or soul. This is where our sixth sense resides and why we sometimes refer to it as a gut feeling. Our gut is slightly beneath our heart.
During the days when you ate what is dead….
Eating is an act of taking in and assimilating. Our perceptions are taken in through our five senses and become food for thought.
Cycles of abuse can only be passed down through the generations if the painful emotions from that abuse are never resolved. We become angry, bitter, depressed, and resentful and we live in darkness. We might think of emotional pain as feeling dead inside. When we hold onto the anger, bitterness, and resentment, we are giving life to the thing that makes us feel dead.
However, if we choose to work through our pain and forgive ourselves and everyone who hurt us, then we are opening ourselves up to receive the light of God’s love.
When you are in the light, what will you do?
Have you ever spoken to someone or been in a room with someone who radiated something that you couldn’t explain? Maybe you went to a seminar to hear someone speak about healing trauma, or maybe you met someone while walking in the park.
I believe that every person we meet is for a reason. Sometimes, that person is there to point us in the right direction, but other times, that person is there to test us. When we think we are ready to heal, and if the energy we are sending out matches that intention, then God/The Universe will arrange for you to meet someone who emits a higher frequency - or light. Healers don’t necessarily advertise themselves as such, but it’s often plain to see that they possess something that could help us.
What will you do when you’re in a room with someone who possesses light?
There’s another way to look at this last statement.
When you were one—without God in your life—you lived in pain and turmoil. You weren’t living life—you were existing in it. When you had had enough and reached that proverbial bottom where you didn’t have anything left to lose and finally made the choice to allow God into your life, you became two. As you stood in His light, you found strength, peace, and joy. Your pain was healed, and you started living life. Now, you’re the one who emits light energy. Now that you have become two, what will you do?
Do you think my interpretation is bang-on or way off base?
How would you interpret this verse?
